Apparently he didn't care, as he strolled to the bar like he owned the place and got himself a shot of whiskey before he looked around for the pirate in question. It shouldn't take long, he had a handsome face that Vex was certain he'd see in any crowd. ]

he'd been at the bar while texting vex, but had moved to a table against the wall in anticipation of his arrival. the bathroom was right around the corner. when he caught sight of vex, he stood partway and raised a hand. the light glinted off his rings.
as vex neared, cassidy sank back into his seat and pushed one of the two mugs of ale beside him across the table. ] Come aboard, mate. I've been looking out for you. [ his mouth turned upwards in a grin. ] I suspected you'd not be difficult to spot.
[ the way he looked vex up and down then, appraising, said that he was glad to be proven right. ]

'ello crumpet, fancy meeting you here!
[ He joked lightly, as if this hadn't be all prearranged. He gave him a wink before taking his seat, his eyes admiring those rings for a moment before he picked up his mug. He clinked his against Cass' before raising it to his lips for a swallow, then leaned back with a refreshed sounding sigh. ]
Mm, so, what is a gorgeous chap like you doing wearing those trousers? You really do need some leather on that arse, mate. Tight bum huggers which make all the birds 'n blokes turn their head as you pass. I bet they do already, but they won't just be looking at your face.
Love the accent by the way, sends me right back to that time, it does.

his grin only widened at vex's greeting. it was almost like he was someone cassidy might run into in a tavern in nassau, his outfit and the fact that he was, apparently, a fae notwithstanding. he took a hearty drink from his mug before answering. ]
I don't possess leather breeches at the moment, and more's the pity. [ his grin turned sly. ] Unless you were inclined to give me yours.
[ was this the eighteenth-century pirate equivalent of 'your pants would look better on my floor'? possibly, if the look he gave vex was any indication. ]
What time are you from, exactly? By your accent, I were assuming a later one than mine. [ which would make him... centuries old. but that part went unspoken, for now. it was probably normal for fae, but he'd never gotten to know one well enough to find out. ]

[ His brows bounced a few times, and he puckered his lips to give the air a little kiss in Cassidy's direction. ]
But I could let you borrow 'em, but if you put mine on and they were baggy I'd have to off myself. I'm trying to get fit and I don't need a reminder if my ass widened.
I got a better idea! We'll have a few pints, then I'll take you shopping. Y'know what I love? Going to the rich tit district and talk about crude shite in front of the staff. I try to time how long it takes before they go ruddy or someone asks me to leave, then I whip out my black charge card and they sputter apologies 'n offer me the VIP treatment. It's the simple pleasures, yeah?
[ He chuckled wickedly before taking another deep swallow of ale. Wow, he hadn't had this stuff in eons. Tasted a bit like pisswater, but that seemed appropriate. ]
Ooh, uh. Honestly I lost count? If it helps any I hung out with da Vinci before and during his glory days. I think I was already a couple of hundred years by that time? History's not really my strong subject. I know by fae standards I'm not quite middle aged yet.
As for the accent, well, I was raised in Wales, yeah? But I hung out on streets of London. I always go back there, it's the only 'real' home I know, even after centuries. I think it evolves over time, y'know? I never really paid attention.
