[ just because he doesn't address her evasiveness doesn't mean it goes unnoticed. it gets filed away for later.

he doesn't say that the real reason he seems to be adjusting okay is that most of the time he feels like he's walking in a dream, that if he took it too seriously, he might actually have a mental breakdown.
